Step 4: Gather

In this step, students solicit and respect diverse perspectives while locating information. They determine the authority behind the resources they have selected and evaluate all information found in the them by critically questioning its accuracy, validity, point of view, bias, currency, relevance, and social and cultural context. They follow ethical and legal guidelines as they gather and summarize information, avoiding plagiarism, and using correct bibliographic citations for all information used.
